Rachel became a named partner at Milano Weiser, Attorneys at Law in 2003, where her practice included both criminal and civil litigation.
Rachel Weiser graduated summa cum laude from the University of Pittsburgh with honors in English Literature, and as a member of Phi Beta Kappa Honors Society. She received her Juris Doctorate in 1998, at the age of 23, from Case Western Reserve University School of Law, where she was a member of the Ault Mock Trial Team and was awarded the Paul J. Hergenroeder Award for the top students in trial tactics. Rachel was named a “Rising Star” by Law and Politics in 2006, 2007, 2011, and 2013, and was awarded Case Law School’s Distinguished Recent Graduate Award in 2007 and Top Attorney Ohio's Outstanding Young Lawyer for 2011. Rachel taught in the Legal Studies Program at Ursuline College of Ohio for several years. She is a current member of the Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Association Certified Grievance Committee, and is a past member of the Case Western Reserve University Law Alumni Board, Young Leadership Division Board of the Cleveland Jewish Community Federation, as well the Young Israel of Greater Cleveland Board of Trustees. She co-chaired the 2001-2002 Cuyahoga County Bar Association Leadership Academy.
Rachel has tried cases to successful jury verdicts as diverse as defamation in employment, breach of contract, drug trafficking, white-collar crime, racketeering and federal firearms cases. She has also done extraordinary work for clients in malpractice and injury and has been particularly successful at trial. For example, she turned a $15,000.00 settlement offer into a million dollar jury verdict and a $40,000 settlement offer into a $975,000 jury verdict, including $300,000 in punitive damages.
Outside of the courtroom Rachel is a fierce advocate for her clients and has had great success in contract negotiation and pre-suit settlement. Rachel also has significant experience in general business/corporate work, including contract review and drafting, (NDAs, Licensing Agreements, Service Agreements, EULAs, Ts&Cs, Independent Contractor Agreements, cease & desist letters, etc…), trademark applications, DMCA, general IP, as well as U.S. and international privacy policies. She has also assisted clients with their websites, cross-border defamation, and in their relationships with the BBB, FTC, FDA and Credit Card Servicers. Rachel understands the stress and expense involved in litigation and works hard at trouble-shooting, giving her business clients a great advantage. Rachel also understands that burden legal fees place on a business and works with her clients to create discounted and creative fee structures.
In 2010, Rachel moved with her family to Israel. She continues to work at Milano Attorneys as Of Counsel via tele/internet commuting. She visits Ohio when needed. Her extensive and successful experience in injury, malpractice, and business litigation, as well as general business/corporate law render her invaluable to the practice. Her ability to utilize her experience and skills, while working regularly and strategically with Jay and Katelyn, makes her very effective.
