Rachel May Weiser joined the firm in 1998. Rachel herself has a birthright of law and science, her father a nationally known physician. With her arrival, the growth toward civil cases, toward malpractice and injury, ripened. She too has tried criminal cases, including murder, racketeering, conspiracy, and drug law violations. However, she has done extraordinary work for clients in malpractice and injury cases. It is her unique combination of intellect and unrelenting diligence that assures our clients of the best chances to prevail.
A judge once looked down her nose at Rachel and her client and admonished them, “Miss, you had better take this offer (insultingly low compared to the injuries the client had undergone). You don’t understand juries, and you will lose this trial.” In fact, Rachel understands juries quiet well, and was awarded 60 times the offer at trial.
Ms. Weiser graduated summa cum laude from the University of Pittsburgh with honors in English Literature, and is a member of Phi Beta Kappa Honors Society. She received her juris doctorate in 1998 from Case Western Reserve University School of Law, where she was a member of the Ault Mock Trial Team and was awarded the Paul J. Hergenroeder Award for the top students in trial tactics. Ms. Weiser was a member of the Cuyahoga County Bar Association 2000-2001 Leadership Academy and co-chaired the 2001-2002 Leadership Academy. She has also been a member of the Young Leadership Division Board of the Cleveland Jewish Community Federation. She is a member of the Certified Grievance Committee of the Cuyahoga County Bar, the Case Western Reserve University Law Alumni Board, and the Board of Trustees of the Foundation for Jewish Education.
Continuing the firm philosophy that a great lawyer is a great teacher, Rachel also teaches in the Legal Studies Program at Ursuline College.
